Here is a list of some of the consoles that were key players in the history of Sony, and in the history of retrogaming in general.
The Playstation (One)
Released in 1994 in Japan and less than one year later in Europe, the PlayStation marks a turning point in the video game history by choosing a CD-ROM support rather than a cartridge one.
It is also the Playstation that started the memory card hassle, filled too fast with backups, but that could be taken anywhere!
A legendary console, which has marked an entire generation of players and has made Sony able to impose itself in the world of video games

The Playstation 2 (PS2)
The second PlayStation came out in the year 2000 and was instantly a success.
Sony innovates with this console with a built-in DVD player.
Knowing that the PlayStation 2 was roughly about the same price as a single DVD player, the console attracted new customers who were not initially gamers.
A strong point of the Playstation 2: the backwards compatibility with the Playstation 1!

The Playstation 3 (PS3)
Released in 2006 to compete against its rival, Microsoft’s Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 was very successful despite some launching communications errors.

Nevertheless, the PlayStation 3 remains a major console, which has marked the players with a good number of exclusive games, and promoted access to online games with the free PlayStation Network!
